Instructor profile

Academic Year 2010/2011

Notice
This course is intended only for students enrolled in the academic year 2010–11, with exam modalities unchanged and described below.

Textbook
"Economics" by J.B. Taylor, Zanichelli edition

Course Content
The course consists of two modules: Microeconomics (first module) and Macroeconomics (second module). Chapters up to and including Chapter 16 pertain to the first module, and the subsequent chapters pertain to the second module.

Examination
The exam is divided into two parts, one for each module. Students must pass the exam for the first module before taking the exam for the Macroeconomics module. Each exam consists of a multiple-choice test. If the student correctly answers at least half of the questions, an oral exam will follow. The final grade is based on the percentage of correct answers, converted to a grade out of thirty, and adjusted according to the oral exam assessment.
For first-year students, the exam will be recorded with a single grade, which is the average of the grades from the two modules. For students from previous years, the grades will be recorded separately.

Materials
The lectures follow the structure of the textbook, with approximately one lecture (two hours) dedicated to each chapter. Below are the slides used in class, useful for review or clarification.
